The Organic Chair is a comfortable small reading chair that was made in 1940 as a contribution to the New York MoMA's "Organic Design in Home Furnishings" competition. It was not until after 1950 that it became possible to manufacture larger quantities of organically shaped seat shells and market them. The first were chairs such as Eames' famous Plastic Armchair or Saarinen's Tulip Chair.
People are pleasantly surprised when they actually sit down in the Organic Chair.  You seem to see the same unexpected smile come across their face as they discover the hidden comfort.  Saarinen and Eames were both masters of designing chairs that relax the human contour and many agree that the Organic Chair is near the top as far as best sit. Our inspired Organic Chair can be used in many rooms and is suitable as contemporary office furniture or simply as a reading chair as it was originally designed for.
